Chalmers Properties Limited is a major owner of Dunedin harbourside land. We have appeared for, and continue to advise, Chalmers Properties Limited in support of a proposed plan change to rezone the harbourside for mixed use development.
The case run by NSEL for Chalmers Properties Limited at the hearing into the Dunedin Harbourside Plan Change resulted in a decision that saw the retention of all the key provisions sought by CPL to enable a rejuvenation of Dunedin's waterfront comprising a mixture of office, retail and residential activities. This outcome will facilitate a similar type of revitalisation to that which took place in Auckland's Viaduct Basin. The decision has resulted in a number of appeals to the Environment Court and NSEL is working with the main parties to ensure that the mixed use plan change is made operative |

| Andrew Duncan, the Chief Executive Officer of CPL, said "We are very impressed with the legal counsel and strategic advice provided by NSEL, which greatly assisted in achieving the overall outcomes sought by CPL under the Dunedin Harbourside Plan Change." |
